今年に入り日本企業を訪問する外国人ビジネスパーソンが増えたと聞きます。海外投資家が日本株に強気になっているという話もあり、将来性がありそうな日本企業への訪問が増えているのでしょう。
ビジネスの世界では英語が共通語です。今まで英語を使う機会がなかった日本のビジネスパーソンも、英語コミュニケーション力をつけておくことが重要です。語学としての英語ではなく、コミュニケーションとしての英語です。

特に印象に残っているのは、米航空会社本社の上席副社長の方です。笑顔で自信に満ちた声で挨拶をされた後、世界中を飛び回っているというショートストーリーで注意を惹き、クラス全体を見回しながら一人一人に語り掛けるように話をされていました。

Mikiya was born and raised in Gifu. He was fascinated to learn English when he was in junior high school. He practiced English words and sentences every day because he wanted to go to America. At college, he earned a study abroad opportunity in Seattle. His American experience really opened his eyes. As for career, he worked at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan in the equities division for 18 years in Tokyo, London, and New York. In his 40s, he pursued a Doctor of Education degree in the Unites States to prepare himself for a career in education. Back in Tokyo, he managed an MBA program for mid-career managers as the program director for 12 years at Temple University. For many years, he wanted to help Japanese business professionals to be able to express themselves confidently in English and develop global mindset.
